Poetry Month: First Steps

April is poetry month and I’ve accepted the challenge to write a poem each day. It’s proving to be fun! I just had to take my inner editor out of my head. To help me do that, I am considering these poems as drafts that can be polished at a later date. Maybe there’ll be a few gems among them. Did you know, Jane Yolen says she writes a poem each day?

Here’s my April 14th poem, First Steps

First fawn steps

Into woodlands

Wobble-balance,

yoga

Standing splits

Legs gain strength

Slowly, surely.
