I’m taking a little break from Kid Lit Village to celebrate poetry month. I’ve been working on the poem-a-day challenge for the month of April. My poems are drafts and I like to think of them as rough diamonds that have yet to be polished. Here’s an example of an unpolished poem, inspired by a visit to the park with my preschool class.

WAYS TO USE THE SLIDE...
Swoosh down seated, arms up high,
On your belly, feet behind,
Daring risk takers go head first
Or find a friend and double up
Hang your legs over the side
Or scramble up defying gravity.
Sliding through life
Do you follow the rules
Or create your own?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to have some more poems for you this month. Have a great day!
