Hello Readers! It’s Friday and time for another Kid Lit Village Review! Today I’m featuring IT WILL BE OK: A story of empathy, kindness, and friendship by Lisa Katzenberger and Jaclyn Sinquett. This story is wonderful in that it models deep listening skills for how to support a friend. Fears are part of life and childhood is no exception. That’s why this book is so wonderful.

In this story, Giraffe, who is frightened by a spider, won’t come down from his tree. His friend Zebra has many intelligent ways of convincing Giraffe to come down but feelings are powerful things and Giraffe can only come out of the tree when ready. This is a story that could be loved by many children and I know my 4 year old giraffe-loving self, would have wanted to hear this one read over and over.
