Kid Lit Village Review: LILA LOU’S LITTLE LIBRARY

Hello Readers! Thanks for stopping by Kid Lit Village. It’s Friday so that means book review day. But not every Friday because this busy preschool teacher would never be able to keep up with her kiddos on the trails each day if she had to do book reviews EVERY Friday.

LILA LOU’S LITTLE LIBRARY: A Gift From the Heart

Just look at this sweet book cover! Isn’t it irresistible? What you cannot see from the image is the glitter added to the book title and some of the books in the foreground. Young children will LOVE this feature.

Lila Lou clearly loves books as she sits inside a fort made of books while reading one after another. Can there be too many books? With a little help from her mom, Lila Lou finds a way to create an adorable little free library from a tree stump in her yard, attracting her neighbours, and sharing the joy of reading with the wider community. This book, full of delightful illustrations, also contains suggestions for adult readers to discuss before, during, and after reading. It has a reading guide and curriculum connections in the front matter. The back matter includes information on how to build a small family library in a quiet space of your own home, which books to choose and how to grow your library as your family grows and changes.
